Subject: Ellie I envy you

You are going to beat me at being a great grand mother I envy you! I am a lot older than you but have a slow bunch of grandkids-lol
I love watching hot air balloons or at least I did when I was in Florida - alas there are no hot air balloons in Nova Scotia or any part of eastern Canada.Our weather can change within minutes and our ocean breezes would have you out over the ocean before you knew what hit.I am sorry I did not go in one when I was in Florida.
For a spring day it is very cold here today and the rain is almost to the point of freezing.
Today was our secret sisters club meeting-that once a year thing I told you about before-we found out today who our secret sister was for the past year and pulled a new name from a basket.We give each other a gift on our birthdays,Christmas and Easter and send a cheerful card once in a while.With everyone bringing something different to the luncheon we had a great feast..so much left over we delivered some to some senior citizen widowers on our way home.The old gents are always so pleased and that makes us feel good.

How exciting to learn about your granddaughter's baby due in August. Does your granddaughter live nearby? Does she know if she is having a girl or boy yet?

My children all got a late start with their families so I feel really blessed to have grandchildren. My high school friends' grandchildren are much older then mine.

I like watching hot air ballons but I am afraid of heights and would not want to try one. I guess I will leave this adventure to the more spirted ones. I can watch the clouds on my airplane rides.

Your secret sisters club is a great idea. It always fun to get gifts and cards on special occasions.

We too have been having lots of rain. It looks like it will clear up this afternoon. It rained all weekend.

We will be celebrating our Orthodox Easter this coming Sunday. The choir will be singing in a lot of beautiful services this week (holy week). I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I will have my family who live nearby here for Easter dinner. We will be having baked ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, green beans, carrots, spinach pie, bread, apple pie and blueberry pie.

I have to sign off as I need to run some errands.
