Subject: Baby Shower

My daughter's baby shower was held last Sunday at a restaurant call "The Cat N' Fiddle". It began at 1:30 and lasted until 5:00. We had a large room to ourselves. She was surprised as we all managed to keep it a secret.

Nancy wrote about the shower so I am going to copy her description of it. Michelle is Nancy's daughter and she is a close friend of my daughter Kristina(Kris for short).

"It was a comfortable setting with 8 at a table.
43 attended including family and close friends.
Michelle was in charge of decorations and expressed her talent with bunches of pastel balloons, antique style -Winnie the Pooh napkins and gift table covering and crepe papered the guest chair. Each of the 6 tables had a center piece of pink, lavender, white flowers in a round container trimmed in gold color. I was in charge of picking up the sheet cake that I had to wait at Shaw's for finishing up, but in time for the shower. It was artistically decorated with Winnie the Pooh and finger- licking good. (Michelle was first to taste it while we removed cake from the box) Phyllis looked lovely in pink and a charming hostess for her guests. Mary, Michelle and I sat together.

Kris received so many gifts. The outfits were adorable. One pastel colored blanket was a special gift. Phyllis had saved this handmade blanket that her mother knitted so many years ago. (Her mother made 3 of these blankets and told Phyllis to give one when each of her children had their first child.)
A four year old girl named Mary Ellen helped open the largest packages by tearing the paper from a lower level. She was adorable. We all ate delicious cheesy vegetable lasanga, sandwiches, spinach pie, cold pasta dish, tossed salad and pickles. Punch and coffee was also served. Favors with a baby's bottle attached with a ribbon in a small box that contained pastel colored chocolate candy and coated candy with nuts were distributed along with homemade baklava by Aunt Yiula. I had three cameras to take turns in snapping memories of the celebration. Michelle recorded the gifts while a couple assistants taped cards and discarded wraps. The event was well organized.

I had wrapped a sassy maternity top for Kris and she went right out to put it on for us all to see. It had pictured a stunning dressed young pregnant girl out walking a dog and shopping the streets of Paris..
Colorful blue background and rhinestone decorated with french words relating to love of shopping for mother and child. " by Nancy

My daughter's due date is June 7th. I will let you know when her precious bundle arrives. I plan to be with her and her husband in the delivery room.

Best wishes for all and hope everyone is having a good week.

Phyllis

It is so wonderful that all went so well at the shower.
An event like this is more than a baby shower, it is a giving and showing of love from friends and family and shows the closeness in love by all.
The shower events sound like lots of planning and then well worth all the work.
Blessings to all.

Hello Phyllis,
(I wrote something and then forgot to send after edit. I should know better as it's 1:00am and I should be in bed this rainy evening.)

Your notes on Kris baby shower were very nice with extra touches that I had over looked. It was a happy event for us to attend on a Sunday afternoon. I hope Kris can find a bassinette very soon. It won't be long before Kaitlyn will be arriving. Enjoy and savor every moment that you experience the birth. God's Blessings go out to everyone. later, nf
