Subject: thanksgiving

This is the Canadian Thanksgiving week-end..the American one is in November.
Yesterday we were to our youngest daughters for a big turkey dinner.wow..turkey,yams,dressing,potatoes,gravey,peas,cucumber salad,other veggies,key lime pie,lemon pie,chocolate squares,apple and peach pies..great feast,16 of us!
Today which is really thanksgiving day we go to number 4 sons place..I will really have to do a lot of dog walking this week,all those extra calories!
It is so nice to get together with so many of the family at one time.
At church yesterday morning mostly everyone took unperishable food to be taken to the food bank for those who cannot afford the extras.One church in town has free dinner for the poor and the elderly and anyone who does not have family to eat with so no one need feel badly because it is not just for the poor and left overs are given to take home.The same church does this at Christmas,New Years day and Easter.Our church collects every third sunday all year long to take to the food bank.There is no one terribly poor in the area but some need help tiding the family over if they havbe lost their jobs etc.
We went weeks without rain but sure have lots yesterday and today..good thing to fill peoples wells before winter..those in towns are on a water system but outside of towns people have to rely on their own wells..we have a drilled natural spring well and are quite fortunate for that.
Must scram now and finish housework and look after the birds and fur babies before going to our number 4 sons "for those who don't remember there are 5 sons and 2 daughters.
