Good topic Ellie, love your names and Kylie's as well.

Okay, I have always picked very boring names for our pets (lol).

Jake and Mitch were named by our son. We had our hearts set on a female Border Collie and Leigh, wanted the name Jake, be it a boy or girl. Poor girl. We decided later to get another Border Collie and Mitch was his choice as well, after an NBA basketballer called Mitch Richmond or Redmond (I've long forgotten the correct last name). Was around the time in Australia that the NBA basketball cards that the kids swapped were all the rage.

Abby - just because I have always liked that name and being a British Shorthair sounded like a British name (lol).
Ted - the breeder said that Ted was "not the brightest boy and had nicknamed him Jethro from the Beverley Hillbillies" but we chose Ted after Ted Bullpitt from the old series on in the 70's called Kingswood Country. He was quick thick and very big. Rob wanted to call Ted - Tank but I wouldn't let him (lol).

Leigh our son was named after a friend from high school that we both liked as we couldn't agree on names that we both liked and went through our high school friends names (lol).

We called our last cat, Jessie just because I like the name.
Rastus, a previous boy because he was quite naughty and the name seemed to suit him.

Just because I liked the names my children from oldest to youngest:Michael-Darlene-Kevin-Kerry-Darrell-Curtis and Cynthia ...let me see..is that 7 ..yes it is !
I wanted 4 boys come hell or high water..doubles up on the twins so thats 5 boys..and my 2 girls..I loved and enjoyed every minute of growing up with them..yes growing up with them because I wasn't quite 18 when I had my first baby. When the boys got in their teens for a while they were hesident to go out with me because people would think I was their girl friend. That used to make me laugh!!
When the children wanted a "talk"session they would say"mom lets have a game of scrabble"we had many talks while playing scrabble. Each of my children had a "late night with mom"seven nights in a week so each had one night alone with mom..one late night a week never hurt their school work and we had such a wonderful time.My children kept up the tradition of a late night with their children although non of them had more than 2 children. We lived in a big 13 room house "now sold"Hubby had a good paying job so they never "wanted"for anything..oh what wonderful times those were!
