Subject: I’m absolutely positive that they know depth of field and lighting patterns. If you know anything about makeup artistry, lighting and shadow is what it’s based on. You just create it with light placement, with reflectors that add or subtract light in the areas you want to highlight or contour… an artist is an artist. And a great artist understands how to use different mediums. Stop trying to put people in a box.

In reply to: 's message, "And where did you get your photography trainingi? If all you do is put a few light sin place and hit a button, then nah. You're right. It's not complicated. But if you actually knew anything about photography, you would know about light and shadows, that there are very specific light patterns and when and why to use them and how to create them, how light ratios work, what depth of field is, when to use different lenses, etc. And you would also know how to create specific looks using your gear, not in AI retouching. No, it's not rocket science, but there is science behind it. Oh, and it takes some math knowledge too. But you keep thinking it's not complicated and you keep going to one of the local folks who are nothing more than trained monkeys." on 16:07:46 03/20/25 Thu
