 -Since 1962 when Maria Fletcher won Miss America, there has only been 1 other Miss America who Tap danced, Mallory Hagan. Maria Tap danced to a recording of herself singing. Since 1962 there have been 38 singers who have won, 10 dancers (including Maria and Mallory), 7 instrumentalists, one Herstory, a science experiment and a ventriloquist.

-As for age: The first couple of Miss America’s were 16. Then many were 19 and 20. As the age creeped up we saw some 24 year olds and Nia was 25. Since the age change to 28, we’ve seen a few 26 year olds get edged out by 22 year-olds.

-This year at Miss America a 22 year old won, but her 1st ru turned 27 this month. In the top 11 there were 4 -26 year olds, 3 -24 year olds, 1 -23 year, 2 - 22 year olds and 1- 21 year old.

-For talent the top 11 had 6 dancers (1 clogged) 4 singers and 1 Herstory.
-The Top 5 had 3 dancers (jazz, lyrical and ballet), 1 singer and a Herstory.

If Miss America is any indication, the top 11 can be any age and have any talent!!
