I don’t think it matters much. Kate should do well at MAO local and state if she were to win local. She has a very developed platform and is dedicated to her community service. She was an excellent representative of NC at the national level. I don’t know her extremely well but I’ve watched her grow immensely over the years. The judges don’t know unless they talk about it in interview or if they truly “check” social media (which I think is rubbish to believe all the judges actually have the time to go to every single candidates multiple socials much less screen them all) I think the ladies should feel free to do what ever system they want to do. I agree and think she would be a lock for Top 10. However, most judges on the local level are " pageant people" and Kate has held a state title with Volunteer. Both Miss America and Miss America's Teen held state Volunteer titles and made top 5 at nationals prior to winning their local/state/MAO titles, so clearly it does not and should NOT matter. I'm not saying that is still the case. I'm just basing it on what was said when Volunteer was first heating up. Maybe since both programs have seen local and state pageants with 3 or 4 contestants, they realize that willing participants are at a premium and they will have to share. I personally would love to see the need first Volunteer disappear. Install Allison at the head of MAO and get back to what Miss America used to be and not the snoozefest it has become.
