Justifying a professional's poor performance by arguing, "Well could YOU do it??" is a poor argument. ("Alex Gonzalez should have fielded that grounder cleanly and gotten the Cubs out of the 8th inning." "Well, you can't say that, because, could YOU have made that play??"...see how stupid it sounds?) People try and make that case often, but its really illogical. Grumpy isn't going to coach OU and he may not even have the ability to...however, it is perfectly reasonable to think that he understands the typical standards for coaching success and is simply holding Kampe to them. For instance, never winning a conference tourney game, never beating Valpo, and finishing 8th in a league you were picked to win (without any major injuries I might add) are perfectly acceptable reasons to argue that Kampe isn't getting the job done. Grumpy doesn't have to have any coaching experience to draw those conclusions. Simply put, someone doesn't deserve to keep their job simply because those outside the field couldn't do it.

(P.S. Because basketball is a public business, it is acceptable for someone outside that business to be critical. So, if you want to argue that Grumpy can't make those judgments, you're wrong. Its part of the nature of the business that Kampe is a part of.)
