Sounds like we all had some pretty good Mom cooks!!! Wonder what made our favorites of theirs so special to us?
I have the recipe for the scalloped potatoes that my Mom makes and have made it myself, but it just doesn't taste the same as hers. My Mom always says that "it always tastes better when somebody else makes it". I think that may be true.
I thought this was a fun post. Did you?

Hi Patty,

It was a fun post..bringing back a favorite recipe from long ago for me.

As, for the tasting the same..it probably was Mom's way of adding a pinch of this and that which is why we can't make it taste as good as theirs.

Your Mom's thoughts of tasting better when someone else makes it is so true. My daughter Sherry has us over every Sunday and her meals taste so good!

Hugs~ Joann

My mother made the bestest....meatloaf! I have the recipe and have followed it to a T. I think ingredients have changed on the brands she used as ingredients and that changes the familiar taste.

You all like me have made the exact same recipes as our moms and they don't taste the same and I think we are missing moms love.
