Thank you, Joann for the birthday wishes. And thank you, Linda, Linda and Bonnie for the condolences.

We took a ton of pics of all us kids and both our parents on the 17th. We were having a family meeting to see if all their important papers were in order. We barely got a couple of things done in time before he passed.

Dad had cancer in several places and it was spreading quickly. He really wasn't in much pain (that we know of!) until about 2 weeks ago.

My older sister and I were with him when he passed, holding his hands. My Mom had taken my nephew to get a haircut, so she wasn't there. I think Dad knew she wasn't and that it was his opportunity to pass when she wasn't there, to spare her seeing him pass. She was upset that she wasn't there, but was glad he wasn't hurting anymore. He was ready to go. A few weeks ago, he said "why is it so hard to die?". He was 88 and tired. Mom and Dad had been married over 63 years.

We're all sad, but glad he's not hurting anymore. His funeral went well yesterday, but when we went to the cemetery, it poured down rain (AGAIN!!!) and soaked everyone. Even those of us under the tent got wet with dripping through the tent. There has been so much rain here in Oklahoma that places have been flooding, so the ground was soggy to walk on, too. They had a fake grass rug under the tent, but it squished when you stepped on it.

We went home and changed clothes before we went back to the church for the funeral dinner.

Again thank you all for the prayers and condolences.
Patty
