Eagerly waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to finally see all of the animated and decorated store windows.
Having a Christmas Club at the bank and putting money in every week.
The Sears and Montgomery Ward toy catalogs.
Waiting all year for one special gift.
Felt tree skirts with sequin-covered shapes.
A beautiful red velvet dress for the Sunday School program.
A Christmas tree in your classroom decorated with ornaments each child brought from home.
A tiny blue bottle of Evening in Paris perfume that you could buy for 10 cents at the dime store for your mom.
Lace or net hostess apron for your teacher.
A silver dollar from grandma for each of the grandkids.
Taking all of the tinsel off of the tree and saving in a box for next year!

Thanks Jazz for bringing up some great memories. I can still hear those little dry needles dropping on the wrapped packages as you walked across the floor.

Does anyone remember using Glass Wax and stencils to decorate your windows?
