Subject: No Bake Cookies

I came across this recipe and remember when I was a kid (long ago) my Aunt Sadie used to make these (I do have her recipe but at the moment I have it stashed away..but really think it's the same as this one.

Do any of you girls remember these from long ago? Hugs~ Joann

LOVE No Bake Cookies!!! I don't like to mess with spooning them out on waxed paper, so I just spread them into a small cookie sheet and when firm, I cut them into squares. Here is the recipe I have that I got from my Mom.
Patty

QUICK COOKIES (No-Bake Cookies)

2 C sugar
1/2 C margarine (1 stick)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C cocoa
1/2 C milk
1/2 C peanut butter
3 C oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla

Combine sugar, margarine, salt, cocoa and milk; boil 1 1/2 min. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, oatmeal and vanilla. Beat well and drop by teaspoonfuls on waxed paper. Allow to harden.
Makes approx. 4 dozen.

Hi Patty,

I found the old time recipe and it's the same one that your Mom uses...so you know that's good.

I never thought of putting on a cookie sheet and cutting in squares...I like that idea.

Thanks for Sharing....Hugs~ Joann

I also make the recipe not sure which one because I have not made it in forever. I do like the cookie sheet idea. My DH will not eat anything good anymore. He has been on a diet and has lost 70 lbs. So I don't cook and he eats the foods he wants.
