Subject: OT: Everybody Crafting? Board Seems Slow...

Thought I would post what I've been doing these past days...

I've been busy putting up the crop of Tomatoes my garden produced in the past week..."Bumper Crop." I've got a lot of containers now in the freezer ready for this Winter for making soup. I have shared with everyone and think they're all "Matered Out!"LOL!

As you know I'm still mastering the "Crochet Skills" and am having a problem with a pattern...have ripped it out a number of times (but I'm determined to get it to work)..just hope the yarn holds out and doesn't get frayed. My husband says I'm determined and has named me "Crochetta." It is a little frustrating but I'm not giving up!

Hubby is taking down the railing and floor decking and steps on our deck..this project was started this past weekend and through the week night evenings. We are re-doing with Trex Decking and Vinyl Railing...no more staining the Deck. This was on our list to do earlier this Spring, but the Hail Storm put a hault to a lot of what we wanted to accomplish. (I'm helping with what I can..the old posts and decking etc. are pressure treated lumber and very heavy.) I'm really just standing by or parking myself on a chair ..running back and forth to the garage for needed tools. We are taking all this lumber over my Daughter Sherry's who has a big 3 Ton Dumpster sitting on the street for the next 2 weeks (redoing their bedroom and bath) so we're going to share the cost and get to rid our deck materials. It's easier than hauling to the dump and paying the weight on this waste, as our Trash Co. doesn't handle lumber. So, we should have this part all done by the weekend and be ready to start this project. It's nice Sherry is only 3 streets over in the development..very convenient.

Well my friends that's what I've been doing...How about You??

Hugs~ Joann

yep, I'm getting ready for Christmas and it will 96º tomorrow... lol I've beefed up the potato bags and starting to make up the microwave popcorn Snowmen - I sell 200 -300 every year... I' actually going to ship the empty pkgs. for online sales this year. I am also making the ceramic ornaments that I personalize with vinyl. No major show for the month, but I have five shows in October and November with one more in December. Of course, I do the farmer's market every Saturday - Heck, I took the Snowmen to the Labor day sale to show and they bought them in August and September! Crazy! I just do as much as I can when I can to keep caught up. Oh - I bought a few red ornaments last year to make the Santa Belly ornaments too! Like this only I am using the narrow white boa along the top http://craftsbyamanda.com/2009/12/easy-santas-belly-ornament.html AND I'll be using vinyl...

Hi Grandma Bonnie~

My gosh... "Being Busy" doesn't come close to all you've got going!

Are you still taking care of your Grandson? I took care of my Grandaughter Marissa for 13 years and know how much time that takes .. she's now in college .. they grow up fast!

It's nice of you to take time to let us know that you're off to getting things done for your craft shows..farmer's market and online sales.

Would you be permitted to share the link to your online sales? I'm sure everyone would be interested in what you have to offer. "You're a True Crafter."

Take Care and Hugs~ Joann

Joann and Bonnie, you are both very busy. Could you share some of your energy please? I've been cleaning, not crafting. Our dog Kaicee died last week. She would have been 12 in October. It's been a relief for me. She had been so sick and throwing up daily. I think she had cancer. It amazes me what worry and stress can do to a person. Now that she is gone, I am no longer nauseated all of the time.My dear neighbor Laurie has been helping me when she can. She has scrubbed all of the carpeting for me and done some other things.

I did manage to get a few cards made and some fall handouts to keep in my purse.

Joann, will you be replacing the old deck with a new one eventually? I hope all the repairs to the hail damage get done before bad weather sets in.

Bonnie, good luck with all of your upcoming shows. See you over at Hugsisters. I hate posting much here due to that danged code thingy.

Hi Linners~

So sorry for your loss of Kaicee ..we went through the same with our Ginger and she was 18 years old back in 1988...we had to have her put down at the Vet's. We never got another dog..she was our "One and Only." I know how stressed this made you as I was the same way back then...just remember Kaicee is now at "Peace." You will in time be able to remember all the good memories you had with Kaicee.

We will be replacing the deck ASAP. We're having difficulties taking out the floor decking...all the screws holding down the floor are rusted. Jack went through about 6 new saw blades and we've got 10 more rows to remove. Once we get the floor off..it's smooth sailing to redo with the new Decking and Railing. The tearing down will be completed in the next few days. Today it's going to be Hot and Humid with the feel of 96 degrees..not to sure how long we'll be out in this weather today. We've got until next Thursday evening to accomplish this, as the dumpster will be removed next Friday at Sherry's house.

I'm sure our house will be finished before the weather sets in..."It Better Be!" I never want to see Hail again!

Got to close for now..making a trip to Lowe's for more Saw Blades.

Take Care My Friend...Hugs~ Joann
