Subject: garlic french bread

I had found a recipe for garlic bread and now I can't find it. Does anyone know how to make the butter and garlic to spread on bought sliced French bread. I remember it said to slice the bread and put it between the slices but I don't know how to do the garlic butter. My son is coming to visit from Iowa and I am making spagette and I would like this to go with it.
