Jenny,
You don't mention what strategies you use for other areas. So I'm not sure how to advise you on using those for your math and accounting classes. I can offere some suggestions though. Have you tried applying acronyms to certain formulas? Perhaps using tactile senses for the formulas. You might try air writing them on your forearm and get a visual image of them. You might also try a pairing game. Write the formula you need on an index card...write what it applies to on a second index card..continue doing this until all the formula's and applications are written out. Then mix them all up in a pile and try matching the formulas with the applications. (write a tiny letter in the corner of the formula card and the same tiny letter on the corner of the application card. That way when you find a match, the tiny letters will tell you if you are correct) Keep playing the matching game until you have them all matched...then do it again...when something new is added in class add it to the cards... this will help you associated the formula to the application as you study..so that when in class or taking tests...you will be able to visually see the cards in your mind and hopefully know what get applied to what. I hope these suggestons help...good luck...keeping my figures crossed for you.
