One student has an Apple Mac and he can programme it to ring his mobile every time he needs to remember something. The only alternative I can think of is to buy some old mobiles and set the alarm on each one with a message saying what it is for. It means re-setting them every night but they have to be set some time... In fact some mobiles will give an alarm more than once a day...
