My daughter, who is dyslexic, recently graduated from High School and we are applying to colleges. I am feeling very defeated in that she does not test well and I'm afraid she will never be accepted to any four-year college, much less a nursing program. Her SAT scores are very low! She is very bright, warm and caring. Her desire has always been to become a nurse. She went through the nursing program offered by our school district and passed her CNA certification exam in April. All of her HSTE teachers highly recomend her and say she is a natural. They have even said that they would rather have a "C" student with her desire to care for patients than some "A" students. How can this be portrayed to help her get her foot in the door at the college level? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
