I have been tutoring students for the last two years with a multi-sensory Orton-Gilliham program. To make a long story short, all of my students are close to grade level or above their current grade level. Most of the students started at least 2 to 3 grade levels behind. Multi-sensory approach works. I have notice it takes about 8 months to see results. You need to be consisted and use the program at least 3x a week for 50 minutes to see results. Can you do that in a classroom? Being a former classroom teacher, I question if you can accommodate those needs. I think you can, but you need support from the school system to achieve this goal. I am sadden by the amount of children not getting their needs meet.
