The good news is that it is no longer a mystery how to teach people with dyslexia how to read and write. However, there is no one size fits all answer - one "program" may work for one person, but not another.

The Wilson reading program is generally recognized as fitting well for adults with dyslexia. Either get yourself properly tested with a nuropsychological exam by someone who understands dyslexia or start with a well qualified Wilson instructor and see if that works.

The International Dyslexia Association and its local branches can be a very useful place to look for resources, including names for tutors.

You can do this! Last week I met a man who after retirement in his 60s got diagnosed with dyslexia and got tutored and has greatly imporved his reading and writing.

Good luck.
