I completely understand where you are coming from. My husband suffered much verbal/emotional abuse at the hands of teachers and students alike in school. He fought all his educational life to be treated with respect and receive the assistance that he required. Thankfully, he had a mother who didn't have a job and sat in the school office nearly everyday to advocate for him. My husband would love to talk to your family member to encourage him in his career quest. Blake probably has the most severe form of the disability and has championed on to owning his own profitable business, and being a wonderful husband and father. It's not all wine and roses, though. It can be hard sometimes to "undo" all that was done to him. Trust was a hard thing to earn and sometimes it's a daily fight.
