Ruth,
I’m 27 and struggle with being dyslexic. After reading your message I can totally relate to how you feel. I remember being in school and anytime we had to take a test the teacher would approach me and ask if I wanted to take my test in the “Learning Center” because there I could have someone read the test to me, talk about humiliating when the classmates that sat next to me overheard that, and much like you said…heaven forbid my friends walk by and see me in there! About 9 months ago I was sitting at my desk at work and decided to start researching about any support groups in my area that I could attend and I ended up finding a group not to far from while I lived. I’d told myself that if there was one close I would take it upon myself to go and I wouldn‘t speak about it to anyone. Well….I called number provided on the website only to find out that do to budget cuts the class had been cancelled and they weren’t sure if it would start up again. Honestly, as much as I was disappointed, apart of my was relieved. Facing this issue has not being easy for me whatsoever and I really do hope I will get that chance to attend if and when it starts up again. I know we are strangers, but if I was in your home town I’d go with ya because the feeling is mutual. I hope you go…I’m rootin for ya!

I understand that the fear of knowing is something we all must deal with but if you lat this go you will never get the help you want for yourself this is not about anyone else but you so do what you need to do if you had a cold you would go to the doctor so go to feel better about you.
