Does anyone know if asbestos was used in the production of the roof and wall linings of the 1980 seamaster 30?

I've recently taken part ownership of one of these boats and have been advised that asbestos was used, when I have been leaning the boat I have noticed fibres coming away.

If this common in these boats and am I looking at a restoration job?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Roger
