Aside from ICF Rules...

what do you think will be best and most interesting for players?
for spectators? for referees? for development?

Why is the ICF Rule so important?
Aus had its own rules enhancements for years (and I'm sure some of their rule variations enhanced a style of play that
contributed to their early success at an international level!!)
DO they still have any variations or do they now follow ICF
outright?

Do you also want to prohibit goal-line restarts after a goal (which has been quite a popular variation)?

What's wrong with a bit of variation?...
-NBA basketball rules are different to FIBA.
-One-day cricket and Cricket Max have developed from 5-day tests
-Rugby Sevens and Touch have developed from Rugby Union and League (did League or Union come first?)

A few final considerations:
how long does a full 20 minute game take when you allow for a full half-time break and stoppages during play?
Is it too different from the 32 minutes of running-time that is generally played in a 40-minute game slot?
(This is actually irrelevant to me because I think the longer game has far greater appeal and benefits)

I'm not sure how players are considering the use of substitution rules in their training and competition regimes...
Is it entirely appropriate for players to train to last a whole 20 min game? (which I perceive is the goal of some players)
Or would it be more effective for the team to have individual players focus on being used on-the-court for shorter (5-7 min) periods? And if that is the case, does it matter whether players have a 1,2 or 5 min break between performances? (-there is generally a lot of uncertainty around when substitutions will be required and actually take place in a game-)
So do we want to encourage a style of play that promotes the effective use of players -&- substitutes? Does the 20 min game encourage this? What about the 40 min game?

Just a few things to think about.
