- If you've got time, take a swatch or a good color pic of the dress to the mall, either Sephora or any one of the make-up counters in stores like Macys, Lord & Taylor, etc.- the consultants will be happy to help you & will even try colors on dd. You don't have to buy all they show you if it's really pricey(more -- suggestion, 07:41:19 11/16/09 Mon
- It was a little expensive, but when my daughter got her dress, we went to the MAC counter (with the wig, crown, etc) and worked with the makeup artist to select eyeshadows. PS I love the dark green and gold color combo, Best of luck to your daughter dancing in her new dress! (NT) -- m, 07:43:39 11/16/09 Mon
- I second the MAC counter advice!! They do a good job and they are worth the $$. They are used to "stage" makeup, too. (NT) -- none, 09:12:06 11/16/09 Mon
- My daughter wears green with yellow and we went to the mac counter and they suggested purple/lavendar eyeshadow - pink lips - it looks great! Go to MAC (NT) -- dance mom, 09:33:50 11/16/09 Mon
- Agree- go to mac their shadows are not cheap but they stay on All day and that little container will last you FOREVER. They are always great about putting together a great look when DD the lady did something different on each eye so I could compare. Very helpful (NT) -- Amber, 10:18:46 11/16/09 Mon

Also, please note that due to occupancy and safety issues, there is to be NO camping in the upstairs gymnasium. Bringing a chair to change shoes is perfectly fine, but people camping out will be asked to move. The school is large enough to accommodate everyone. Lastly, please remind your dancers, no hard shoes on the school's hallways and gym floors. Thank you for your cooperation.

- Ours is all satin with iridescent overlay. Applique is velvet. (NT) -- New Gavin, 20:16:46 11/11/09 Wed
- Is anyone else having a problem with all the sequins coming from Gavin? I really don't like it. Love the velvets & rich fabrics but sequins to me are tacky. (NT) -- Specify "no sequins", 08:48:53 11/12/09 Thu
- I love squins, glad to see them back in. They look wonderful onstage. (NT) -- Dolly, 09:22:20 11/12/09 Thu
- There is a vast difference in stage trendy look vs traditional look. The traditional look should be adhered too-even though I'm the sequin lover- American audiences outside of ID dance don't get the whole competition look. Performance for non Irish audiences is difficult and the culture gets lost unlike other ethnicities who keep traditional garb. (NT) -- love both, 11:26:53 11/12/09 Thu
- Double bubble - reminds me of a Oompah-Loompa (NT) -- looks fine, 13:27:24 11/13/09 Fri

- One of my favorite inspirational poems - Best wishes to all O dancers -- from the cartoon "Frazz", 21:26:43 11/14/09 Sat
The race goes to the swift, I s'pose. Or else the slow and steady. Or else the passionate or those who bothered to get ready. Or ones who coached themselves, or those meticulously mentored. But every single time it goes to somebody who entered.

- Dance sneakers -- Sneakery, 11:35:38 11/13/09 Fri
Friends, I'm a canvas Capezio dance sneaker wearer who tried the fancier Capezio/Bloch dance sneakers but found they made my arches ache. Really weird that the simple canvas dance sneaks don't :) Before I get a new pair of canvas sneaks, I was wondering if anyone had tried the Frontline dance sneakers? They look really sturdy. I had foot surgery for two fractured sesamoids a few years back and am now prone to stress fractures so I'm looking for a dance sneaker that has ample squoosh like a real sneaker but has some slide like a dance sneaker. Thanks for any suggestions!

- Extra dress for dance-outs/shows $200 -- dresskeeper, 05:12:32 11/14/09 Sat
I have several dresses that are 3 to 4 years old. They would be perfect for shows and danceouts when a costume is required. I am selling them for 200 dollars each.
With the expence of costumes these days, why not have an extra costume that can take the abuse of a heavy duty St. Patrick's season?
Put away your $3000 costume and use one of these.
One costume would suit a 9 to 11 year old.
Another would suiut a 12 to 14 year and the last one would suit a 13 to 15 year old.
If you have an interest, I will supply photos and measurements.
