Subject: The shock sets in
In reply to: Jocelyn 's message, "

Oh now I do recall, we were just getting to the part
Where the shock sets in, and the stomach acid
Finds a new way to make you get sick
I hope you didn't expect that you'd get all of the attention
Now let's not get selfish

It happened too fast for her to be able to do anything but watch in dismay, and it wasn't until the other guy was stumbling away that she shook off her shock and moved - thinking about calling after the guy to see if he was okay, but he was walking and not bleeding and she didn't even know his name. Instead, she just turned a completely unimpressed frown on Colden - even more so because of the fact that he was laughing the whole thing off. Her lips in a tight line, she slid out of the booth slowly, breathing a soft breath out through her nose in an attempt to settle her frustration. He was standing sort of in her way for her to get up so she pushed him aside - not so gently, and just shook her head at him and then turned to grab her purse, digging out her coat check tag as she spoke so that she didn't have to look at him. "You're an ass, Colden." Finally, she raised her dark eyes to meet his gaze - no measure of humor on her features to match his - and then just stepped slowly back from him, hesitating a moment instead of making her exit immediately because she couldn't quite believe that he had just done that.

  • He frowned when she took away his smugness, his eyes following her. "He was treating you like any other girl here, Jocelyn." He explained to her, frowning as he reached around her and grabbed her coat check tag and tucking it into his pocket so he could try and keep her there a bit longer. "Hey! Come on, Joce, the guy was an ass, he deserved and it wasn't like I beat him up or anything." It had been barely a hit at all really, the guy was just a baby that was all there was to it. A low breath escaped his lips as he reached forward, touching her arm. "Joce...come on..." He murmured, his brow furrowed, suddenly looking like he was hurt that she was mad at him. He had just been sticking up for her dignity in his mind, he didn't want to degrade her just another bar trick when she was so much more that that. That guy didn't deserve to be touching her, that was for sure. (NT) -- Colden, Sun, Feb 11 2007, 9:38pm PST
