It was weird to be hearing these words come from her mouth, but he had to realize that, as gentle as their break-up had been, he had still burned her in some ways. He had never given as much to her and their relationship as she had, and he had always known that, but it had always been easy to say that 'eventually' he would tell her how he felt and 'maybe next week' he would get rid of his apartment, all those things, big and small, that reflected on his level of commitment to their relationship. She had made the effort and he hadn't, and he knew that - had known it then too but hadn't been in any state to change things yet. He shook his head a bit, his sad, quiet smile lingering. "I didn't miss just your company, Keila. I missed you." He corrected her stubbornly, his features creasing into a gentle sort of frown. He didn't like this logical side of her - it made things for him that much more difficult. "And we were so much more than friends, Keila, you know that." His gaze dropped to watch Nani who was now sitting between them and looking from one to the other - unsure why they had stopped their walk for no apparent reason - and he ran a hand through his hair again, a soft sigh of frustration escaping his lips. He just wanted to have a nice, simple dinner with her again, but he didn't know if he could just be her friend and he didn't know if things could ever be simple between them with all of their history...
