He didn't get the whole pressing need to just move on and pretend like nothing had ever existed between them. He could see working with her and maybe being her friend, but truthfully he didn't really want to be her friend. He didn't think he could ever look at her like she was just a 'buddy', and he didn't really want to either. She wasn't seeing anyone, he wasn't seeing anyone, they used to fit together - he was definitely tempted by the idea of at least considering the idea of 'them' again, though it didn't really seem like she shared those same thoughts. "Why are you worrying about things, Keila? We're hanging out, it's a perfect day, the dog's happy, it's still summer..." He was definitely complaining now, but he was pretty thrown off by her mood - so used to her being the happy-go-lucky on who always saw the positives in everything and made the most out of every situation. "Things'll be weird if we make them weird... I'm sorry about what happened and I hate that we had to go in separate directions for a year..." He trailed off, not wanting to get into an argument or hurt her feelings or anything, but he had missed her and he had missed being around her and the fun - a year apart had made any bad memories fade and so all he recalled were the good times, and he just wanted it to be like that again with her. Maybe that was part of the problem of 'them' though was that he was never really ready and willing to be serious about their relationship - every once in a while they would have a 'moment', but for the most part it was a lot of fun and games...
