He just hated how impersonal it all seemed. He didn't want her stressing about their 'relationship' but he hated it when she spoke to him like they hadn't spent nearly three years almost joined at the hip most of the time. He was torn and it was complicated and he didn't know how to express what he was feeling when she was just trying to be easy going and non-confrontational. It was no good when she was all serious but it was no good when she was all casual like now - part of him just wanted her to be the same flirtatious, fun sort of girl she had been for as long as he had known her. Maybe he just missed feeling like she wanted him - it made him feel a little shallow to think that, but it did make some sense. His feelings towards her hadn't really changed - he still totally adored her and wanted to be around her all the time and wanted to hold her hand and touch her back and kiss her cheek and hear about her summer like he was more to her than just another professor who she worked with... But it seemed like things had changed for her and figuring out how to deal with that was his problem. "Sounds perfect..." He all but mumbled and fell back into step with her, a little quiet as she returned to her blissful rambling. "Yeah? That sounds like fun... Hawaii good this summer?"
