He listened quietly to her stories, murmuring quiet responses when appropriate and smiling a bit at the antics of the kids all the while thinking that he should have been there with her. It wasn't like he had ever wanted to leave her - it was just that he had had to take advantage of the opportunity presented to him. He kind of thought maybe she didn't get that he hadn't chosen traveling over her, but that it was much more complicated than that. "Be right back.." He passed the leash over to her and then ducked inside the restaurant to let the hostess know that they had grabbed a table. He returned a few minutes later after a brief stop at the bar to grab a beer for himself and a beverage for her that he knew she would enjoy, then went back out to the patio to find her. Setting down their drinks, he settled into his seat across from her and dropped one hand to pet the top of Nani's head while he skimmed the menu himself. "Already figure out what you're eating?" All you can eat pasta sounded about right to him - he had lost a fair amount of weight over the year and had ever intention of putting it all back on. He preferred to be healthily muscled - not skin and bones, which was how he was feeling since he got home and looked at himself in a mirror. He was even planning to hit the gym a bit too - something he didn't usually stress about too much. "Sounds like it was pretty busy out there... That's fun though." He'd gotten on with her 'family' and had a lot of fun with everyone when he had been there and it was such an amazing place anyway - definitely a great location for a summer home...
