  • She let out a deep breath at his tone, knowing that he was angry with her just by the way he had answered the phone. "Hey, sorry...didn't realize my phone was off." She stated softly, shifting to push her way out of the bar and outside so she could light up a cigarette and be in a quiet area when she spoke to him. "What time did you get home from work?" She wasn't going to tell him about the whole ordeal that day, he didn't need that added stress and she wasn't about to volunteer that she had gone out on a joy ride and then out for a few drinks unless he asked her what she had been doing. She just tried to keep the problems that happened at home just where they happened at - home. • He was relieved to here her voice to say the least, though it didnt lesson his temper. "About five hours ago. Where the hell have you been?" He wasn't going to tell her he'd been half afraid she'd turn up dead or injured. • She sighed deeply and took a long hit off the cigarette before she cleared her throat and went into her explanation. "I wanted to go out for a bit so your parents watched the kids for me. I went out for a drive and now I am down at the strip." She shrugged her small shoulders, her eyes following a guy who was eyeing her like a piece of meat. It had been awhile since she felt like a piece of meat and to her suprise she wasn't offended by it, in fact, she was kind of flattered. She remembered the days that weren't all that long ago when she came out here -- every male eye in a mile radius would be loooking at her. He wanted to be able to fix this but he couldnt very well if she didn;t tell him about it. He hated the idea of her out alone at the strip too... with no one knowing where she was. • Her eyes widened when he so abruptly hung up on her. It had been years since he hung up on her, what the hell was his issue? Her brow furrowed as she shifted to flick her cigarette and then hit the send button on her phone again to connect back to her house. She frowned, listening to the phone ringing as she headed back inside to get the keys to her bike as she waited to see if he would even pick up the phone. If he didn't, well, damn him then. • She frowned heavily, hurt sparking in her eyes. The last thing she needed after dealing with his daughters attitude all day was to deal with his attitude now. "Depends, are you going to be an asshole all night or not?!" She growled back at him, sliding a leg over the seat of the bike and starting it up. They didn't argue often at all, he was right on that, but damn it she didn't need his attitude for just going out and having a night on her own. I dont like you out there alone... you should have called me... or at least Autumn." he glanced around the quiet apartment before speaking again "Trinity told me what happened... I've called work... • She let out a deep breath, her brow furrowed a little. "I needed to be alone, Malakai." She stated softly, her brow furrowed before she shook her head. "I'll be home in a little while." She stated softly before she hung up the phone. She needed to just think about what he said. She was sure Trinity told him exactly what happened, in her own version of it at least. It wouldn't be what happened for real, it would be what the little girl made up. Now, Kai didn't even trust her to stay home by herself with the kids during the day? He had to take off work or work from home? Tears pricked at her eyes but she pushed them away as she gunned the bike and took it back to the garage to get her own car. • Kai knew what needed to be done... good cop bad cop... and he would have to be the bad cop- since summer was too good to be horrible to Trinity. Soon enough Trinity would be going to Summer for comfort instead of looking for him to spoil her. He didnt do her any favours by indulging her. He had been thinking aboiut it all night, as was still wide awake, nursing a beer, when Summer arrived home. He was tired of being pissed- it wore him down these days, "Hey." • "Well maybe you should take her some." She stated as she hung her jacket up and headed past him through the living room to the stairs. She just wanted a shower and to go to bed and forget any of this ever happened, she wanted to wake up and be seventeen and carefree again. Well. She hadn't actually been all that carefree when she was seventeen either but at least then she hadn't been a failure. As soon as she got up to their room she was stripping out of her clothes and tossing them aside so she could climb into their huge shower with dual heads. At least she could relax in there. • He sighed and followed her up, but stretched out on the bed instead of joining her in the shower as he would normally. He closed his eyes and rubbed at his temples before letting his hands smooth over his shaved head with a sigh, waiting for her to come out before he spoke. "I can't. I'm being a bad cop." His eyes were closed and he was ready to crash for the night, he could deal with her temper and bruised ego as well as everything else that had gone on tonight. • It took her awhile to come out but when she did she was wearing the thick cotton pajama's that clearly screamed out 'hands off the woman'. A yawn escaped her lips as she eyed him, her brow furrowed. "You are far from a cop of any kind." She stated as she shifted to the dresser to brush her hair out in front of the vanity mirror. She was tired enough that she was lazy and didn't blow dry or anythingm just brushed it out and plaited it into a thick braid. A yawn escaped her lips as she ran her hand over her face before she shifted to look over at where he was stretched out, taking up most of the bed. She was just not in the mood. • He ignored her comment. He wasn;t sure why she was so pissy with him- he hadn;t done anything- and if it was him that had taken off and not told her she'd be just as worried and pissy. He caught her glare and sat up, pulling his shirt over his head and undressing down to his boxers. • Her jaw set as she settled down into the bed, turning off the lights and laid down on the bed. She was silent for a few long moments before she finally spoke. "There isn't a need for you to not go to work. If you don't want me watching the kids during the day then we can put them in daycare or something. No sense in you babysitting all of us." She stated without looking at him, without moving from where she was laying on her back, her eyes up at the ceiling in the dark room. You're a wonderful mother, Trinity just has bigger issues than we anticipated... and I can;t help you solve them if I'm away all day- its not fair to you- its putting Maliik in danger and its ruining your life.
