Some of you have written that the boy's students were free to go to a private doctor such as their family doctor to fill a medical form or to go to school for a physical examination performed at the nurse's office by the school doctor assited by the school nurse which was free of charge and that many families choosed that free option.
In France in the 60's, we had not an option, at the beginning of each new year school from middle school to the last grade of high school and even after at university, we were summoned to report at a school or university physical examination which was mandatory, if you did not come the day of the summon, you were summoned an other day with an other class at school and other students at university.
So it was really compulsory (like at 18 age the summon to report in front of a draft board commission to decide about the fitness of young men for military sevice once you reached 18 age).
A physical examination was also mandatory to go to a summer camp or to subscribe to a sport association or sport team outside of school and a medical form filled by a private doctor was not available, you might come on the day and location mentioned on a summon letter.
At school, even the three years of high school, we might come to the nurse'office very soon after the beginning of the school year by group of 15, half of a class, supervised by our male Pe teacher, we entered in an adjoining waiting room and he instructed us to strip all together immediately until underwears ( at that time we all wore white tight briefs) and after we stayed standing in line until the school nurse came to do a roll call to check if all students were present,( she could have done it before pour undressing but the rule or use was to be instructed to undress before her roll call), she was assisted each year by a studing nurse of a neighbor school who came for all our physical exams as a training course ( she might be glad to have been assigned to that school instead of a clinic for old persons because it was an only boy's school which meaned that she would see about three hundred high school boys stark naked during her stay at the school the first weeks of the year school, and even for the roll call, she could already enjoy to see us in just underwears and expect the coming complete nudity of each of us in the exam room , that studing nurse was different each year, she was not much older than us especially at the last grade at 17 or 18 age.
We were instructed after by the male Pe teacher to sit on benches ( our clothers were on hooks ) and to stay quiet, no talks were allowed in the waiting room, then ten minutes by ten or a little less we were called by the school nurse to enter in the exam room one by one but after having removed our last cloth, our brief, under instruction of the Pe teacher, so thay we were naked for a while in front of all students ( it was the same for them ) and the male Pe teacher and we entered naked in the exam room, the set up was the same each year from 14-15 to 17-18 age.
Once entered and the door closed by the school nurse,I was stark naked in front of two women, the female doctor, generally a middle age woman or a little younger and the school nurse also middle aged and a girl, the studing nurse who could watch all the exam and hear comments of the lady doctor or the nurse about my body exam, it began by a weigh-in on the scale for which I might expose to the doctor and the nursing student my naked butt, she could see the school nurse slap my butt to make me climb on the scale or to stand up straight with arms on my sides without moving..
The exam was rather thorough, especially for the spine and balance for which I might do some exercices such as squat several times, stand and touch my feet while I felt that their eyes were focused on my back, walk to the other side of the room, stop and bend over and touch again my feet and then come back; even the eyes test was performed in the nude lke all other exams such as blood pressure, a blood test, a urine test for which the school nurse came with me in a small restroom and stood behind me while i tried to pee and not to think to her presence so close with my naked butt in plain view with the door opened.
Then it was the dreadful inspection by the doctor of my genitals who sat on a small stool for that part of the exam with the nurses on her sides : penis, palpation of the balls and scrotum, a quick look at the urethra orifice with her fingers to spread it, the pulling back of the foreskin to inspect the glan and to check that all was fine to pull back, then of course the famous hernia test, the doctor asking me to turn the head and to cough while she was pressing with her fingers on the area around my groin and testicles.
She ended the exam with my back, she slided her fingers all along my back from the neck to the crack of my butt, then she grabbed my cheeks and instructed me to squeeze them while she pinched them to check how strong they were ( at least I presume that it was her purpose for that exam ) and after she instructed me to bend over and she spread my cheeks herself for a quick visual inspection of the anus ( no prostate exam, I had my first one at the draft examination at 18 age )
During all that very intimate final part of the exam, I felt the eyes of the nursing student behind me.
On the reverse of what is said by some of you, I have never been aroused during my school physical exams, certainly because I was too much impressed and embarrassed to be naked for such a long time, may be also because the exam room was rather cold since the temperature was adjusted to the medical persons who stayed all a morning.
Once in the waiting room again, we were not allowed to dress again except for our briefs since we get out of the room stark naked but instructed to sit on the bench like before and stay quiet in just briefs until all our group had been examined by the doctor. I presume that our male Pe teacher thought that it would be more easy for him to keep us silent if we were still undressed.
The set up was the same each year with the same school nurse and same doctor while the nursing student was each year different. Fortunately I never saw any of them later and nor I knew one of them. All of them had the opportunity to see during about ten minutes each of the threee hundred boys students of my high school, she were lucky to have that assignment compared to other nursing student and she learned certainly a lot about male teenagers bodies by watching their exams in the nude and hearing the comments of the doctor for hers.
We were not happy with the presence of a nursing student but we had nothing to say, the school authoritees would have not tolerated any complain and our fathers would have laughed and said to get it over quickly or told that it would be worse during the exams for military service, which was not true for the presence of nurses but true for the full nudity. Anyway it was better to have a nursing student present in the room than a girl high school student wanting to become a nurse or following a school nursing program present to help the doctor and school nurse like it is related by one of you. Or to be examined all together in a gym with audience of families sitting on benches like I have read it in other discussions( if it was true?)
As you have noticed, we were naked in the exam room but examined one by one, we were not in group except for undressing in briefs in the waiting room.
But other exams such the physical examinations for summer camps or to do sport in a team outside of school were sometimes performed in group without privacy at all.
