Arrrrgggg!!! After more than 1 year that I posted the original message, nobody knows about the digital output. I'm considering throwing my hm-dr10000 and buying a PC DVD-R recorder to store my camera records.
I bought the d-vhs with lots of illusion, but now I am convinced that it sucks!! Without doubt, the D-VHS is the new betamax. I don't recommend anybody to buy one.
