Subject: I never understood the fascination with anime
In reply to: Omega 's message, "Re: D VD Review: Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust" on 15:45:13 02/19/02 Tue

Being familiar with Voltron and Battle of the Planets as a kid, I got tired of anime fairly quickly, yet it seems to be gaining in popularity. It always seemed to me to be a rather limited form of stylized art. Good anime looks identical to everyone else's good anime.

I looked at some recent anime, and it still looks like Voltron. After 25 years, the stylized art of anime hasn't changed a lick. Although the stories might be great, I have a hard time watching it because I am sick of the art.
