Subject: And you would have been deficient
In reply to: mt. healthy mountaineer 's message, "On a more practical level, I'd have just given you a ticket..." on 13:59:09 05/27/04 Thu

And you would have proven yourself deficient in discretion. This was not even a legal parking spot. I simply blocked a small ramp. My store was less than 20 yards away. I was literally in the store for less than 30 seconds. This man knew me. He had seen me every day. He had also seen every other store owner on that block do as I did. As I said, the car was running and my wife clearly told the officer that I was coming right out. I was actually heading back to the car when the officer yelled at me to move it, a thing I was going to do anyway.

I have had experiences with cops on more than one level, and there is something wrong about them. I am not saying that they take the job because they feel they are lacking something. I am saying that they take the job because they most certainly are lacking something. (Generally speaking, of course...)

I was picked up for under age drinking once when I was 20. I was not even legally intoxicated--- had had two beers. During the paper session I complained of having to go to the bathroom many times, so many times that I thought I would wet my pants. The officer refused to let me use the facility which was only ten feet away. I stood up in my chair preparing to go anyway when the cop leaped from his desk and threw me back into my chair. I have never come so close to wetting myself in my adult life. What did this accomplish besides humiliating me and depriving me of even my most basic needs? What point was being made?

And, as I said, I am not only talking of cops. I am talking about the harley rider apparel, the cloth of a priest, the uniform of a cop, the trappings of the shriner, the black leather of the Goth, the spiked hair of the punker; what have you. These men lack something that wearing a uniform gives them. It's just a theory, but I am standing by it.
