I feel that Big Brother can only go so far before losing itself. I wouldn't have a problem of national ID cards like a driver's license. It depends on the type of implanted tag and its purpose. I'm not keen on marking my body with a computer tag implant or a tatoo. It is too reminiscent of Hitler and death camps.

If I disagreed with the system/methodology, I'd fight it. I would refuse on the grounds of violation of personal freedom and fight it in the courts.

I'd take up a religion were such medical procedures go against it to further the cause of violation of my religious freedom. I would make sure to make a media circus of it all to raise awareness.

If those options would not work, I'd declare the country no longer truely free and leave in the interest of freedom to a country with freedom and that did not persecute in such a way. Then advertise back that fact to others that freedom lies elsewhere.

Such tagging most likely can be circumvented or removed. Illegals would work around it anyway. Then there is the matter of foreign visitors, etc. I would illustrate that tagging is a poor solution to the problem and the freedoms lost to this poor solution.
