Charisma just had a baby (not just on the show), and want some time off. If she was quitting I'm sure they would have killed her off or something, but I guess they are trying to convince her to come back to the show after her maternity leave, and therefore keeps her in a coma. Don't think you can blame loosing Cordelia on the writers!

As for Spike - I love his character and comments, he's been the best part of Buffy in all the seasons he's been in, and I think he would be a great asset on the Angel show, but I totally agree that for him to join Angel investigations is so against character both for him and Angel... The only way to pull that one off is by having both Angel and Spike make a promise to Buffy to fight together before she dies or something in the finale - but they killed her twice already so I don't think they should do that for the finale...
