amateur metal detectorist unearthed a 2.6kg gold nugget worth £130,000 in Australia.

‘I looked at him and said, “Try A$100,000”.’

That adds up to just over £80,000, but the rock was only half of the find.

All in all, the 4.6kg rock contained 83 ounces – 2.6kg – of gold, which Mr Kamp was happy to take off his hands.
