I will give it a try. I will take Omeprazole every other day for a couple of weeks and if there are no problems, I will get rid of it as well. Thanks for the suggestion. I have been afraid of the return of ulcer. I have had stomach pains since around 1976 or so only to find, decades later, that I had H. Pylori (my brother called me on that one as soon as he found out what he and I had and the newly recommended treatment). I have been free of this bug ever since.
I went on Omeprazole about 18 months ago when I developed difficulty in swallowing even water, and discovered that I had an ulcer in the esaphagus. Last time I was tested, about 6 months ago, I had no ulcer but still some inflammation in the esaphagus.

5HTP is one step better than L-Ttyptophan. More efficient. Just be careful not to focus too much on seratonin and forget the dopamine....most anti-depressants focus almost entirely on seratonin and end up causing dopamine issues. There are important interdependencies there that are ignored. It would be a good idea to supplement a bit of L-Tyrosine to counterbalance the Tryptophan.....even better would be for you to just get an Amino liquid or pill that has them all in there...more balanced.
You may also find kava kava better for sleeping....do your research...the liver damage danger is mostly BS.
Sorry about the withdrawal comment, reading it again I realize that I misread that part of your post.
Congrats on getting off the meds...your body probably appreciates the change very much....

Take a look at Priosec's side effects. It causes joint pain. I took the stuff for 4 months this year after having developed gastritis in the esophagus and small intestine. After a couple of months on the stuff I felt like I had aged 20 years. All my joints ached all the time. In month 4, I cut back and took my daily pill every other day. I felt better but figured the crap wasn't doing me any good. So, I quit altogether. All the joint pain went away in about a week. Instead of the Priosec I take some magnesium and deglyserized licorice (DGL). I'm healing up. Being away from the friggin job helps as well.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying. I do use one 500mg L-Tryptophan supplement as a sleeping aid for a few months now. I have NO withdrawal symptoms. I would have had the symptoms after I had given up a third of the dosage of Serzone I was taking (I tried to get off of it several times over the years). Being a researcher at heart, I have been observing my own feelings and behavior. I have never felt better. It has to be due to D3. I have been taking a multi-vitamin/Mineral pill and a vitamin B complex pill for as long as I can remember. Only D3 was a new addition a year ago.

Go look up amino acids, magnesium and the entire Vitamin B complex and their effects on depression and other mental issues....there is much more to it than just Vitamin D.
Specifically look up how 5HTP fares against SSRIs (and L-Glutamate as a precursor for GABA)....and how dopamine needs to be balanced with seratonin and how L-Tyrosine plays a role in that. Too much dopamine stimulation will deplete seratonin levels...and vice versa.
You should probably supplement a bit as you wean off the anti-depressant so as not to have withdrawal symptoms as well...JMHO.

It "was" Serzone. It was banned in Germany a couple of years ago because of noticeable number of people developed liver damage but I had no choice. I don't have either Rheumatoid or Osteo arthritis, per my physician. He does not know what kind it is! I have no swelling at all and no nodules on hands, etc., even after 20 years or so of arthritis. At present, my pains are under good control using glocosamine/Chondrotin, MSM and Serrapeptase. I am afraid I have graduated to 120,000 IU each twice a day of serrapeptase to accomplish this. The only problem is that I can't go for a walk for more than about 200 yards or so when the joints begin to hurt. So, I am homebound mostly although I do drive and go grocery shopping for a few items without any trouble.
I am on Prilosec because of stomach pains and esophageal ulcer (which is now cured). Anything acidic and my joint pains become unbearable. I can't take even trace of any dairy product or nightshade family of vegetables. Only a few days ago, I took a very thin slice of red onion on a hamburger and the next day the pains went through the roof! They are now under control. SOOOO....vinegar is out. I also can't stand its taste.

I do have something to share with everyone: I have been on an anti-depressent since about 1988 until now. Since I have been taking 8000 IU of Vitamin D3/day for about a year now, based upon b-w' post, I felt I might not need this medication. I eased off 1/6th each week with no feeling of depression. As of today, I am not taking any and I never felt better in that department.
So, in my case, the depression was caused by vitamin D deficiency. I am hoping that, in about a year, my arthritis may go away as well. One can hope....

Silver price soars on heavy demand, high hopes for gains

Gold has been getting all the press, but silver is on a streak, too.
Silver has soared to $18.45 an ounce from $10.79 at the start of 2009, a 71% gain. In contrast, gold has gained 32%, closing at a record high of $1,141 Thursday.
But silver is nowhere near a record. When gold hit its 2008 high of $1,011.25 an ounce in April of that year, for example, silver continued to rally to $19.30. And it is nowhere near the record high of $49.50 an ounce it hit in 1980, when Nelson and William Hunt unsuccessfully tried to corner the market.
Pushing silver higher now:
•Gold. Gold and silver often move roughly in tandem, prompted by fears of inflation and the lower value of the U.S. dollar on the currency markets.
•Heavy demand. At $18.45 an ounce, silver is far more affordable than gold. Sales of Silver Eagles from the U.S. Mint have soared to 25 million 1-ounce coins so far in 2009 from 19.6 million for all of 2008. Demand has been so high that the U.S. Mint is making only 1-ounce silver coins and no proof sets – high-quality collector issues.
Another source of demand: silver exchange traded funds, which invest directly in silver bullion. The iShares Silver Trust (ticker: SLV) has $5.4 billion in assets and is growing in popularity as the white metal soars. Several foreign silver funds are also big bullion buyers.
•Big hopes. People expect silver to play catch-up, says Jeff Nichols, senior economic adviser for Rosland Capital. It usually takes about 16 ounces of silver to buy 1 ounce of gold. Now it takes about 62 ounces of silver to buy an ounce of gold. "We expect the gold-silver ratio to move toward its historical mean as silver outperforms gold in percentage terms over the next few years," Nichols says.
Unlike gold, which is used mainly for investment purposes, about 50% of all silver goes for industrial uses, according to The Silver Institute, a trade group. Although silver is still used in film photography, it's mainly used in electronics now, says Philip Klapwijk, CEO of GFMS, a precious metals consulting firm.
Because of the worldwide economic downturn, industrial use of silver has fallen.
Yet demand for silver could pick up.

We have been again contacted by the insider source we have called Hawkeye. We reported his messages in some detail last year (2008), when he - like many others - was warning against serious problems he understood were set to occur last October.
These problems did not manifest - apart from the global financial crisis. We wrote to him again in March 2009, having not heard from him for six months. He replied immediately, but his messages were obscure and in the absence of hard details we did not publish them.
In his latest message, received today, Hawkeye warns of events set to occur in October 2009 - January 2010, and again earnestly advises us to find our 'refuge'. We felt we should share with you the information we have. Some of what he refers to is clearly stated, but other parts of his message are more opaque.
We have received nearly 100 messages from Hawkeye since he first contacted us in October 2007. He is educated, dignified, well-informed, courteous, not as young or strong as he was, and at least at some stages in the past has been well-connected on the 'inside'. He refers to the controlling elite as the 'Roths' [Rothschilds] and states that they are 'Z' [Zionists]. He dislikes and distrusts 'O' [Obama] and refers to him as "the shineboy". The way he writes suggests to us very strongly that he is authentic.
The messages below are presented like an e-mail history, with the most recent at the top. For the whole message exchange, read from the bottom up, from where it all slowly gathers momentum.
A final note: unlike our sources Henry Deacon, Jake Simpson and Elizabeth Nelson (all of whom we've spent considerable time with, have gotten to know personally, and whose real ID and bona fides we have fully verified), we have not met Hawkeye, and have no proof of identity.

Will speak little about it, as military remnants are trying to attempt another formation, soon, this year, Oct-Dec time frame, and what I say could possibly jeopardize some periphery aspects. A "Machine" must have many aspects, military, economic, social sentiment, plenty of greased wheels, and a general "will" to do or die. Do Or Die!...bottom line.
We have a society now by design made up of many "employed" persons who must jump to some "boss's" demands, whether it be civil or military.
The threat of unemployment, and loss of benefits, retirement pay, etc. has become a serious factor in people's lives. A successful "machine" must take into consideration these aspects, and have in place an alternative plan to overcome all obstacles. From my perspective, no such "machine" exists, sad to say. The "tea parties" you read about are curious, and infiltrated, and they're successes will be meager unfortunately. There are no surprises on the horizon, just various attempts involving isolated scenarios. Many good people will be hurt, imprisoned and worse.
Even fairly informed and good willed people just have no clue as to the power of this Roth Machine. Their tentacles reach every aspect of life as we know it, and grows exponentially by the day. That is why I encourage everyone to get out of the city, and find a well hidden safe place. The masses will not be a freedom loving person's friend.
Until the Fed Res is dismantled, and lobbyist disenfranchised, and congress cleaned up, there will be not even a chance for any major changes. Tell me some good news, all YouTube bobbing heads! Just make me wrong in my analysis.

Last year, there were many operations going on, some of which received no press, and appears nothing major happened, but it did, and has not come to light, if it ever will, some good men are now gone, and resulted in changes in attitude
among the high ranking military. Coup is not a good word, rather I would say more very silent covert proceedings still in the making, military in nature.
Right now, I do not know how to stop the Roths, and those around them. There is no machine in place that can articulate a serious challenge, that would not be taken out first, as that is what happened to another machine last fall.
Certain high level military people are really pissed off, and it is all they can do to keep from doing something...and the Roths have them by the balls. I know of what I speak, as their grip cost me dearly.
I watch the news, and hear the stories...a lot of pissers just making noise. If one has not worked for the association, they have no clue. The place is going down, and the Roths are hell bent to be the supreme rulers of this planet...make no mistake about it. They will do whatever it takes. The yakking on the tube is all programming for the masses who also have no clue.
For me, yes I would like to see change, would even help in the right situation, but I would be taken out before we ever got to first base, I just know too much, and I am left alone because I am quiet, and I love my family...VAV, the rock and hard place game. I am doomed either way. Bastards.

We also know a credible person who met Obama when in his twenties, and who swears that he KNEW then that he would be President. That’s about 25 years ago.)
* Is Lindsey Williams essentially correct? (Refresher: we wrote this summary: )

It got progressively worse to the point that I just gave up on finding any relief. On day a friend recommended that I begin taking Bragg raw, unfiltered, organic vinegar. I figured what the hell, I'll try it. Well after a few weeks I really started feeling a little bit better. As the months went by i felt much better. I have been using it for about 20 years now, and have very little pain. I know that it sounds crazy, and that vinegar is not a medicine, but I think that it has reduced swelling in me. I take a teaspoon or two every day mixed in a glass of water. Fortunately, I like the taste of vinegar. Actually, I crave it and have all of my life. Anyway, like any homecure what works for one may not work for another

Increased carry trade in the dollar would likely result in further declines in the dollar, which has fallen 7 percent so far this year against a major currency basket , weighed down by increasing risk appetite and low interest rates.
Estimates from Pi Economics suggest the dollar carry trade may have reached $250 billion to $550 billion in the first half of 2009. At the height of the yen carry trade, transactions were said to have hit $1 trillion, accumulated from 2004-2007.

CLIMATE change sceptics in the Liberal Party will not be silenced despite Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull's contention there is ''overwhelming support … right across the board'' within party ranks for a carbon trading scheme. The sceptics dominated debate on climate change in a meeting of the Victorian division of the Liberal Party yesterday.
One rank-and-file Liberal member was given rousing applause when he said global warming was a natural phenomenon and the theory that human activity had caused it was ''absolute rubbish''. Another speaker said those proposing action on climate change were working towards creating a ''world government'', while a third said any engagement on the issue would signal that the Liberals had ''raised the white flag''.
The grassroots debate highlights the huge task Mr Turnbull faces as he tries to bring his party with him on amendments to the Government's carbon pollution reduction scheme.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd taunted Mr Turnbull in a speech on Friday, saying sceptics - ''world government conspiracy theorists'' - and the Opposition Leader were ''holding the world to ransom'' by sabotaging progress on a global treaty. Mr Rudd's attack came as international negotiators all but conceded there would be no agreement this year to satisfy both rich and poor countries at the Copenhagen summit next month.

ANGER has deepened within the Opposition over emissions trading, with internal criticisms that chief Liberal negotiator Ian Macfarlane has become too close to the Rudd Government. Opposition figures were shocked and infuriated when the Government revealed it would not announce its compromise offer on emissions trading until tomorrow - only to discover that Mr Macfarlane had asked for the delay. Mr Macfarlane admitted he and Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull decided last Monday - when it was clear negotiations would go into the weekend - that the Opposition party room should consider the outcome tomorrow and the plan should not be unveiled by Labor until then.
The move gives opponents of the scheme less time to mobilise against it. Mr Macfarlane said he had not wanted the Government to pre-empt the party room discussion with an announcement. ''My goal is that the MPs and senators hear the outcome of the negotiations from me - not from the press, not from the Government.'' But he neglected to tell the manager of Opposition business in the House, Christopher Pyne, who was taken by surprise when Climate Change Minister Penny Wong outlined the timetable on television yesterday morning.

A leading climate change scientist whose private emails are included in thousands of documents stolen by hackers and posted online says the leaks may have been aimed at undermining next month's global climate summit in Denmark.
Kevin Trenberth, of the US National Centre for Atmospheric Research, in Colorado, says he believes the hackers who stole a decade's worth of correspondence from a British university's computer server deliberately distributed only those documents that could help attempts by sceptics to undermine the scientific consensus on man-made climate change.
Trenberth, a well-respected atmospheric scientist, says it does not appear that all the documents stolen from the university has been distributed on the internet by the hackers.

Daly, who died of a heart attack at his Launceston home in 2004. Others show scientists referring to sceptical colleagues as "prats", "charlatans" and "idiots". The emails also acknowledge the frustration of trying to find evidence to "prove" man-made climate change.
In one email, Kevin Trenberth, a climatologist at the US Centre for Atmospheric Research, who supports the theory of man-made climate change, says: "The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment, and it is a travesty that we can't."

The reality is, there is a demographic shift occurring. With the "graying" of America, there will be less young people to pay into benefits for old people. A couple of years ago, I was at a retirement planning event. The facilitator said at that time there were 2 people paying in for every person drawing Social Security benefits. They also said When I retired, there would be one person paying in for every person drawing benefits. Where are they going to get their benefits from? It's not logical for it to work like that. You can't divide one persons paycheck up between 2 households. Let's say the government doesn't address the medical issue. How will the costs be reflected by the insurance companies and how will they maintain their profit margins? The young people right now are paying for Social Security, and socialized health care through Medicare, and Medicaid and the Veteran's Administration. They have families parents and relatives. Why is it their responsibility to fund the socialized health care of a bunch of old geezers? They weren't around to protest the the events leading to the current financial conditions. Social spending is a 2 way street. Wouldn't it be equally as acceptable for all of those people over 60 to receive the exact same benefits they're wishing on the young?
1.No medical care for the young = no medical care for the old. If you want it, do like they do and get your checkbook out.
2. No Social Security for the young = No Social Security for the old. (They'll never see it, so why should they have to pay into it.)
3. Insurance Premiums for the young = insurance premiums for the old. (Why should they be the ones paying the majority of the insurance?)
Incidentally, both employees and employers pay large health care insurance rates. If I had a business, and I wanted to increase my competiveness and profit margin I would look for a way to offload my insurance costs. At the next election, I would be donating to the party most likely to reduce those costs. My bet is the Republican party will pay heavily in the next election for their lack of solutions in easing the insurance burden on businesses.

Things become complicated—not to mention embarrassing and embarrassingly hilarious—after inaccurate numbers make their way out into the world. The more often a statistic is reported and re-reported, the more authority it assumes. At a certain point, an incorrect number gains a wake of supporting citations that can challenge or overcome the actual facts.
There was an interesting Bloomberg roundtable broadcast this weekend, Origins of the Crisis, with a panel of authors who've published accounts. Some of their books delve into the events leading up to the meltdown, some begin with the bailout, Michael Lewis (Liar's Poker) moderating.
Niall Ferguson was one. His Ascent of Money (on the shelf here, unstarted) was a multi-part broadcast on PBS a while ago which he narrated, a nice overview through the centuries of banking and finance. He said an interesting thing in response to a question posed of each, how did you get into business journalism. He said looking into the roots of WWI in pre-war Germany, the archives of bankers
and financial institutions recorded in the day, convinced him that finance and financial market history have as much to do, in some cases more to do with history, than politics and political history. An understanding absent almost all journalists and reporters, politically consumed, and probably most historians, missing half the picture.
And the broad population allowing for a Groundhogs' Day of S&Ls, LatAm debt crises, asian contagion, seemingly ad infinitum, none of it worthy of airtime or printspace until the aftermath. Politics gets 99-100% of it, the revolutions and evolutions in finance and markets zero to zilch. There is little to no market for it. I guess that leaves the dark matters to one's own devices when half the known universe is missing to the whole of the world.

The owner needed a 41k loan. After a year he wanted to kite it to 64k which wuz also OK wit me.
But then he needed to bump to 78k and cud not make the payments on the 64k with FOUR renters. (1200 sq ft)
I refused to bump and the broker sold it to someone else.

I usually get up between 3-5 am. Since I am retired, I see no reason to change clothes, specially because I will go for part 2 of sleep right after I eat some food. Since I get up this early, there is nothing else to do but to come to the computer. Even if I could do things, the severe arthritic pains prevent me from doing physical labor.
Yes, the world is getting nuttier each passing day. Who would survive this insanity and how is the big question. Deflation-inflation debate is still going on. Gold goes higher but not gold stock funds. What is one to do? Living in a track home does not encourage one to buy physical gold. In any case, one won't be able to use them for buying food in a store....assuming there is still food available. Peak oil, deficits, debt, coming market collapse (or 35000 on the Dow?) It is all so confusing. 20 years ago, times were a bit more predictable.
Amazing: we are hell bent on destroying ourselves as a nation and take down the rest of the world with us. The survivors would be the ones we are fighting at this time. Since the muslim nations never even tried to climb economic mountain, they have nowhere to fall to. A man lying on the ground does not fall, only the ones standing on the edge of a cliff: that' where we appear to be.

And I suspect this GLD growth and resulting asymmetric upside impact will continue for years to come yet. Why? America’s stock investors remain woefully underinvested in gold. At the end of October, GLD held $36.9b worth of gold on behalf of US stock investors. This sounds massive, and it is relative to gold. For comparison, the big recent Reserve Bank of India purchase of 200t of IMF gold that laid the psychological foundation for this latest gold surge was just a $6.7b deal.
But compared to the gigantic stock markets, GLD remains trivial. The same day GLD held $36.9b worth of gold, the S&P 500 alone had a collective market capitalization of $9870.4b! Despite GLD’s phenomenal success, it remains tiny in the grand scheme of stock investing. It is only worth 0.4% of the S&P 500’s market cap, and a smaller fraction still of the entire stock markets’. Yet even the most conservative advisors recommend all investors have at least 5% of their portfolios in gold, with some recommending up to 20%.
GLD could still grow by an order of magnitude from today’s levels and still only hit 3.7% of the S&P 500’s market cap! So GLD’s holdings, and thus its upside impact on this gold bull, should continue to grow as long as stock investors remain underinvested in gold. This secular gold bull which started in April 2001 is probably only half over today, and mainstream gold investment should continue to grow throughout its entire second half. So GLD’s holdings ought to grow on balance for many more years yet.

Phil Jones Director of the CRU has acknowledged the files are theirs. They contain papers, documents letters and emails. The latter are the most damaging and contain blunt information about the degree of manipulation of climate science in general and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in particular.

This small, elite, community was named by Professor Wegman in his report to the National Academy of Science (NAS).

These people controlled the global weather data used by the IPCC through the joint Hadley and CRU and produced the HadCRUT data. They controlled the IPCC, especially crucial chapters and especially preparation of the Summary for PolicyMakers (SPM). Stephen Schneider was a prime mover there from the earliest reports to the most influential in 2001. They also had a left wing conduit to the New York Times. The emails between Andy Revkin and the community are very revealing and must place his journalistic integrity in serious jeopardy. Of course the IPCC Reports and especially the SPM Reports are the basis for Kyoto and the Copenhagen Accord, but now we know they are based on completely falsified and manipulated data and science. It is no longer a suspicion. Surely this is the death knell for the CRU, the IPCC, Kyoto and Copenhagen and the Carbon Credits shell game.
CO2 never was a problem and all the machinations and deceptions exposed by these files prove that it was the greatest deception in history, but nobody is laughing. It is a very sad day for science and especially my chosen area of climate science. As I expected now it is all exposed I find there is no pleasure in “I told you so.”

Michael E. Mann, who directs the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, said in a telephone interview from Paris that skeptics are "taking these words totally out of context to make something trivial appear nefarious."
In one e-mail from 1999, the center's director, Phil Jones, alludes to one of Mann's articles in the journal Nature and writes, "I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."
Mann said the "trick" Jones referred to was placing a chart of proxy temperature records, which ended in 1980, next to a line showing the temperature record collected by instruments from that time onward. "It's hardly anything you would call a trick," Mann said, adding that both charts were differentiated and clearly marked.

I'd guess they're slightly over exposed bright spots, the galaxy itself is the object of the photo (obviously) and the photo was adjusted accordingly....I have no 1st hand knowledge but I doubt NASA would purposely dress that image up with phony crosses. It does not need it since the image is already quite 'awe inspiring'.
Now the source of the bright spots (crosses) look to me like a much more distant and much much more energetic object(s) than the subject galaxy...IE Super Novas and other extreme phenomenon. icbw
