Subject: Township has some blight resistant chestnuts they are giving away.

I was only supposed to get 4 nuts but instead got 6. Only want 2 cause they get so big, planted 2 and potted 4 and will look for a home for them. The deer hunter, trapper, skinner down the road said he'd take 1. The tree is supposed to get 100' tall and needs room. Double fenced the 2 I planted to keep varmints off. Have a couple more blueberry starts to put in the ground today, haven't decided to plant them or pot them. Last year I potted them until fall and they were a lot more robust than the ones planted 6yrs ago. The ones planted 6yrs ago are finally taking off, lost 4 of the original 12 for some reason. Have to keep them protected from the deer. The 8 peach pits we potted last fall and left out in the weather are starting to show signs of rooting. Have 6 pots of honeycrisp apples and 12 pots of macintosh which are not showing any signs yet. C'mon spring!
