https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=old+tube+type+radios Jasper your mea culpa's are admittedly acceptable; it is nobody's fault but your own that you've found a sense of satisfaction in your hobby, you should concede it is however mammon worship in the worst sense in that all money can do is help you get some sensation you enjoy and by your own admission you enjoy your hobby and its worth a lot to you and isn't that what really counts. That said, I've noted there is a movement back toward vinyl records because they can nuance analogue music in ways digital can't replicate, that same observation would necessarily follow in the analogue tube type variable capacitor radios. I would think it can be admitted electron tube technology while it preceded solid state is actually a higher technology but that they copied solid state they gleaned from captured alien technology. Yes! the second aspect you mention is your hobby occasions rememberance of bygone days of yesteryear, The Lone Ranger Era for instance and then Sky King if you recall? That Era of freedom was much better than the modern police state we have now where everything is monitored and funneled through intel agency computers is why the internet is so damned slow now as they slather everything with their filthy beysian algorythms predictive programming.
