Get a firewall with real time logging that detects incoming and outgoing data and what process or program is using your datastream.
Glasswire is one of them and it's free to try.

Try to find one that is open source with the premise that it may make it harder for 'agencies' don't have backdoors to circumvent detection of network traffic.
