I am glad someone else posted about misreading a client. I am not from the South, but when I first read about this sitter freaking out the possibility the client was misread went through my head too. Maybe this individual was a transplant from a part of the country where guns and putting down your own animals is not unusual, naturally this will seem odd to a native where these things aren't done. And perhaps I am a bit oversensitive, but I find it annoying that any guy out there that acts a bit different is automatically considered a potential rapist or worse. I'm not saying don't be careful and don't take precautions, but most posts about meeting with men seem paranoid. Maybe if you are a female sitter and that scared you should not even consider men as clients. The originator of this thread was concerned because the guy wanted to show her his cat in his bedroom among other things. If we refused because someone male or female did this, we would have no cat businesses! That seems like the number one place cats hide and 90% of the time we go into a stranger's bedroom to see the cat in the closet or under the bed. Get a grip!
