I agree I really do believe some of them are very rigged. Especially when you see the same girls winning photo contest after photo contest after photo contest.
However sometimes I think even if you have awesome photos so do the winners. Its not really fair to say my photos were awesome and didnt win anything. When I look who did win and they had awesome photos too.
I have also seen it at real pageants where my daughters photos scored 24.5 but the little girl in her age division photos got .5 a point higher then ours and won. Which may be what is happening in the contests also.
I also agree we entered XPRESS and even though my daughter also didnt win a thing I believe that they were fair!
I run a photo contest and run it totally fair. That does include if there is a tie I dont break it even if it means I am out money.

  - At the risk of being bashed, I always have at least 4 judges every month, 5 when i can get that many who aren't busy. My judges are experienced judges who have judges at every level of pageantry, and in all types of pageants. I have photographers (not well known ones that have taken ANY of the photos being judged) as well a some pageant moms. Just because someone is a pageant mom doesn't make them totally unqualified to judge. I also like to get judges from various regions (makes it harder to have 5 judges) each month.   - I posted this before but it didn't get through moderatin for some reason: I ALWAYS use at least 4 judges from different regions of the country. I use 5 or 6 when I can get that many so I can drop the high score and low score. It's difficult when you don't want judges who know all the kids. Please don't assume that ALL contests are in it for themselves. I've been open for over a year and have only made a profit 2 months and it wasn't enough to get excited about.   - I have been a pc judge for over a year and I disagree that pc judges are not qualified. I am a former photographer(not pageant), I have also judged local and state level pageants. Yes I am a pageant mom, but who else thinks that they can pick a perfect winner everytime other than a pageant mom!! I have never used any of thephotographers for my dd photo, so I don't know any of the photographers work. Anyway the person who should win the award on most of the pics is the touch up person.
