But Gina, you and i believe in the same thing: the goodness in people's hearts. And guess what, just because i am not a believer of organized religion, doesn't mean i dont believe in living your life honorably. That was actually my entire point from the get-go when i talked about spirituality. Being a good human being is all you need and you know what, religion is not necessarily the driving force behind good human beings. Of course a lot of the time it is but quite a few times it isn't. I think the core values, the notion of right or wrong, the morality in people has a lot to do with the how our parents bring us up. I was brought up without a fleck of religion, my parents are probably complete atheists for all i know, either way it was never discussed in my family one way or another. And you know what, you can't find kinder, more accepting, open minded, generous people than my parents.
And i hate to point this out but again, there are a lot of horrible people out there who are deeply religious and they somehow manage to justify that in front of God (or they commit crimes and then "repent for their sins", thinking it'll somehow make it ok) So, clearly, being a decent, honorable person does not always have to do with religion. For all the wonderful kind people who have opened their hearts to God, there are just as many wonderful kind people that don't need to. And for all the monsters out there that have shunned God, there are just as many (just as many, Gina, we can talk statistics if you want!) that are deeply religious and it doesn't stop them from being the atrocious ignorant human beings that they are, in fact in some cases in their twisted minds, their religious ties encourage it. I've watched and read too many things to know this to be true...

I'm not irritated at all, buddy, i welcome a discussion, but i just want to make that one point clear.

Myst
