Miss Chinese (Toronto) Pageant 2002
Winner will Represent Toronto in International Pageant
Toronto, Ontario – November 27, 2002 - Miss Chinese (Toronto) Pageant 2002 will be taking place this Friday at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Over one thousand guests at the Gala, plus four hundred thousand Chinese audience across Canada will witness the crowning of Miss Chinese Toronto 2002, who will represent Toronto in the upcoming Miss Chinese International Pageant. Live broadcast of the show will begin at 8:30pm on Fairchild Television. Simultaneous webcast is also available on www.funfun2.com.
Highlights of the show include a musical with over one hundred performers, location footages from Mount Tremblanc, a game show session for determining Miss Intelligence, and numerous costumes. Comperes Mr. Dominic Lam and Mr. Poon Chung Ming will be adorned by jewelry sponsored by Federal Auction Services. The panel of judges consists of Director of United Way of Greater Toronto Mr. Rahul Bhardwaj, accomplished entrepreneur Ms Rita Tsang, jewelry designer Ms. Jocy Lee, fashion designer Miss Yolanda Ng, and President of Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Joseph K. Wong
This pageant is organized by Fairchild Television and co-organized by Talentvision and Fairchild Radio, all affiliates of Fairchild Media Group. Ten girls, ranging from 17 to 24 years old, have been chosen among a record-breaking number of applicants in September, and they will compete for the honor to be this year’s Miss Chinese (Toronto). They will also be competing for other trophies that celebrate photogenic features (‘Pacific Link Bell World Miss Photogenic’), friendship (‘Statefarm Miss Friendship’) and Intelligence (‘Miss Intelligence Award’). The champion will represent Toronto in the upcoming Miss Chinese International Pageant.
Partial proceeds of gala ticket sales for the evening will be contributed to the United Way of Greater Toronto and two of its agencies: Hong Fook Mental Health Association and S.E.A.S. Centre.
