I am an import broker and I have been watching this sorry tale with interest.

I have looked at Automodenas website and it gives the impression that they act as the buyers agent. This being the case then thee liquidator has no call on your deposits.

I would suggest that you all form a lobby group and put the BDO Stoy Hayward under pressure at the meeting.

Equally, if the police have retained your files then you might like to investigate the data protection act and see if some leverage could be applied to release the commercial information that they are holding.

Don't give up, I can assure you that the supplying dealers on the continene twill want you to pay for and take delivery of your vehicles if you can track down the dealer.

I must admit though if a car was ordered in July and the deposit has not been paid to the dealer then fraud has taken place.

I paid my deposit back in October, and it should have been forwarded to the dealer (dealer claims he has had no payment) then a final payment made in December (claims nothing received) he delivered the vehicle to Automodena though!!! (NT) -- Rich, 22:37:44 01/20/02 Sun
