Hi my name is ashley and i'm 18 me and my boyfriend had sex on Dec.9,2007 and about week later my peiord came on but after it went off i started to feel nausa and sick on the stomach and i have been sleeping alot i havent been on birthcontrol in a month so could i still be preganet?

Dear Ashley,

First, ANYTIME you have sex you are risking pregnancy. Even if you were on b/c there is a risk for pregnancy and STD's. The only 100% effetive b/c is abstinence.

That being said, if you have not had sex after a NORMAL period, then you should not be pregnant. You may just have a virus.

Just make sure to take good care of yourself, drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest.

If the symptoms persist, you should see your Dr. - and let him/her determine if you should take a pregnancy test.

Please also reconsider having sex at all - have you given honest time of reflection and discussion as to what you would do should you get pregnant?

At 18 it's a good time reflect on your future plans, what you want to do in life, college and such things. Put the sex/partying stupid distractions aside for now. Just my 2 cents.

well i took 3 at home pregnancy test all were positive!! but the plus sign was very light so iam hoping that it may just be wrong iam so scared and dont know what to do!! i already have a lil boy that is 2, will be three in january and mom told me that if i got pregant agian while stayin with her that i would have to leave!!! iam so so so so stressed and dont know what to do at this point! guess just hope for the best right>?? thanks for all your help its greatly appriciated

Dear Ashley,

I'm sure your mom said those things in hopes that you would not get pregnant again. However, since you probably are pregnant, she will probably NOT go through with that threat. If indeed she does ask you to leave, the pregnancy centers will help you. They can provide housing and other helps - look one up near you at this site:
