Subject: New to Loser's Challenge

Hi! I'm starting the challenge today. I need the accountability of weighing in each week. I've lost 22 pounds since the first of the year, but I put a few back on the last few weeks eating too many salty foods (pizza and chips are my downfall!)Plus I'm having a hard time giving up my Bud Light. Has anyone figured out a way to incorporate beer or wine(one or two)into their diet and still lose at a decent rate? I know I need to cut back, but it tastes so good and is so relaxing!

Alcohol can be worked into your diet in moderation.... so can pizza and chips... so long as it is only an occasional thing....

I have my blackberry merlot once in a while and I have a cooler or a slice of pizza or I'll have some Ice Cream (my weakness) If I limit my intake of it I help curb craveings.... and still enjoy life a little.... ;) just be careful not to over indulge... have maybe one treat a week and be sensible... I mean....like maybe 1 beer.... or even 2 if its a weekend or holiday..... but keep it there and know when to call it quits... (not from an alcoholic stand point but a dieting stand point)

semper fi,
Ivy

Hello

I tend to look at it as "calories in / calories out"

This weekend I had a family gathering (17 family members at a cottage for dinner) I made my choice not to drink, so I could indulge a bit on dessert...... All about choices.

I still participated.... If I perfered alchol to sweets.... I would have choosen the "opposite"

For me it is balance and moderation.... the rest of this week I will be more careful and skip both!

I agree with Betsy, if you track your calories and know how much your allowed then you can fit in your treats by making the necessary adjustments. Like Betsy I have often passed on a alcoholic beverage in favor of a bit of dessert. It's just a matter of choices. If you really enjoy your beer then fit it into your calorie limit by restricting intake of other foods. At about 100 calories you could probably manage to fit in a beer a day if you are eating healthy the rest of the day. You've lost 22 pounds and should be very proud of yourself!! You must be doing something right. Just stay focused and pay attention to what you're eating and you'll be able to continue your success and enjoy life at the same time.
