Asalama Aleikum

Until the age of 14 my mother told me that i did not have to perform my isha prayers because i was young and the prayer is quiet long (ie the full 4 sunnah,4 fard 2 sunna, 3 witr) At that time my knowledge of islam was limited and i believed her, at the age of 15 i realised that it was fard on me to perform all my prayers including isha. Can i make up for the missed prayers, is there any fault on my mother.

Jazakallah
wassalam

As Salaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

Concerning one who leaves a salah intentionally until its time expires, he will never be able to make up for that salah. Such a person should turn to Allah and ask His forgivness and increase his good deeds and nawafil in order to increase his weight [of good] on the Day of Resurrection.

The only excuse for missing a salat is sleep or unconsciousness:

The prophet(saw) said, "There is no negligence while one is asleep but forgetfulness occurs when one is awake. If one of you forgets the prayer or sleeps through its time, then he should perform the salah when he recalls it." [agreed by the four]

In regards to your mother being held accountable for your failure to pray, Allah tells us that no one can bear the sin of anyone else...When a child reaches the age of puberty he or she is held accountable for his or her own sins.
