Praise be to Allah.

Cupping is an old practice which involves removing some of the blood from the body as a way of releasing Impurities. It used to be done during the time of the Prophet(saw):

"The Prophet(saw) sent for a slave who had the profession of cupping and he cupped him." (Bukhari 3.481)

However this is not a practice done too much today.
